Advanced X-Men Comic Book Solicitations (May 2010)

What makes me nervous about these upcoming titles is that a beloved X-Man supposedly dies protecting Hope, the mutant Messiah who has recently returned to the present with her guardian Cable after being chased by the newly turned villain, Bishop since the events of Messiah Complex (more than 2-3 years ago). Well, not so much a villain, but his impetus to kill the child is that in his version of the future (where Bishop comes from), the kid supposedly turns out to be the cause of the destruction of mutant kind.

Dazzler excites me also. Siya pala yung tinutukoy na kapatid ni Mortis, who is of course, part of Selene's Inner Circle in the X-Men's current crossover arc, Necrosha - which you should definitely check out. Hear this: Selene (the Black Queen) uses the T.O. Virus to bring back all the dead X-Men and Villains to life (against their wishes), and with her power, is able to resurrect the whole of Genosha and turn it into her kingdom of the living dead. Another X-Man supposedly dies in this arc. Crap. But awesome right!

I'm so excited for these titles coming out in April of 2010. For those of you who don't know, I'm a huge X-Men fan. I've always liked the animated series... even the Spiderman and His Amazing Friends cartoon that featured Iceman and Firestar. But it was only really in High School, when I was with mom in Fully Booked that I started getting hooked in comic books. I believe it was Grant Morrison's run on New Xmen that got me back into the game. I saw the cover - it was comprised of Professor X, Jean Grey, Beast, Wolverine and Cyclops. The rest? I had no clue. So I got curious and collected back, and collected forward... which leads me to now.

An event four years in the making, Second Coming is finally here. Hope, the mutant kid who was born after M-Day which triggered all these forces within the X-Men Lore to scuttle to get possession over a mutant who could be the most powerful mutant in the world, is back in the present with her guardian Cable after leaping into the future to escape the newly turned villain Bishop. There's a huge target in Hope's back because some see her as the destruction of mutant kind, and others, kind of a deus ex machina who can be the savior of mutant kind.... basta long story short, she's mutantkind's last hope and the X-Men are going to do everything they can from the forces that want to destroy her...
